JetPCL Enterprise Server is high quality HP (Hewlett Packard) PCL (Printer Control Language) emulation software that converts PCL files into image files for enterprise wide applications, such as Fax servers, Document Delivery systems, Document Archiving and Web applications. JetPCL works with any application that prints to an HP LaserJet printer by converting the PCL data into electronic document images. With JetPCL, you can interface your custom IT applications with many standard and legacy document applications using their common ability to produce PCL data as output.

JetPCL Enterprise Server emulates a PCL printer to produce an image file that looks exactly like what would have been printed on paper. JetPCL can render into a variety of output image formats including PDF (the Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format), standard TIFF Class-F, Windows BMP, DCX, PCX and other related formats.

JetPCL Enterprise Server is commonly used by the IT departments of our corporate customers to develop high quality in-house fax and/or email document delivery solutions. They use JetPCL Enterprise Server to generate an image file from PCL data that is then either faxed, emailed, previewed, provided to corporate users through a browser based application, or archived in a document image database along with indexing information. By utilizing the JetPCL command line or DLL interface, IT engineers can easily incorporate the robust functionality of JetPCL into their C, C++, C#, Visual Basic, Delphi, Java, .NET or Perl code base. Use JetPCL to accurately produce PDF files from the automated reports and then post them to your intranet.

JetPCL Enterprise Server is especially valuable in supporting legacy applications and non-Windows client systems. JetPCL Enterprise Server is integrated into the server, enabling the client application to produce electronic document images from the legacy PCL output. The PCL output stream may be generated by any application that can print to a HP LaserJet printer. JetPCL Enterprise Server can also be used to transform data between different document image formats or to convert from an image file into a PCL or Postscript for printing. For example, JetPCL can be used to convert a received fax in TIFF format into a PCL or Postscript file ready for sending directly to a LaserJet printer without the need of a print driver. JetPCL can convert TIFF files into PDF files too.

Special features of JetPCL Enterprise Server not found in some converters:

• Extract text from the PCL file while also imaging it for import into a document archiving or indexed database system.
• Support for non-western languages, such as Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hebrew, Arabic, Greek and Cyrillic.
• Generate specific types of PDF documents for different needs (for example image based or native font based PDF files).
• Merge an image, such as a company logo or signature anywhere on the page.
• Merge images, such as barcodes, into a PCL data stream before printing or additional JetPCL processing.
• Allow the user to embed fax or document routing information within the PCL data stream for use after JetPCL conversion.
• Merge specific page images with JetPCL output pages, like printing on pre-printed forms.
• Merge entire document images to produce complex final document images.
• Adjust the JetPCL output image with shifting and clipping options.
• Convert image files into PCL data for integration with other PCL documents.
• Transform one image format into another for archiving (JetPCL will accept many image file types as input).
