How do I report a JetPCL problem?
A customer can report a problem by simple sending an e-mail to support@techknowsystems.com being sure to include the following information:
What JetPCL version you are using
What JetPCL format you are using
Attach a PCL file that reproduces the problem
Explain what exact problem or error codes you are receiving
Be sure to test the PCL file on a real LaserJet printer to be sure the problem is not in the PCL file itself. One way of doing this is by sending the PCL file directly to a LaserJet printer connected to the LPT1: port on a standalone PC. This can be done using either the Tech Know Systems PCLPRINT utility or the copy command.
All four items are critical in order for us to help. The JetPCL version and format info can be extracted from which ever JetPCL format you are using by simply using the -V switch discussed in the JetPCL User Guide. This will display the major and minor version numbers and format string to the screen. Or, if you are using a developer format then the simplest way of getting the version and format string info is to convert a PCL file that contains the following text in it: "+VER:"
Be sure to include the quotes. This will display the info you need in the resulting output image file.
