Input formats are limited to appropriate image sizes, monochrome
color and supported compression methods. Generally speaking, JetPCL will accept
as input the same type of files as it produces as output.
JetPCL System Requirements:
Storage:
- 3.25 Mb minimum disk space for the JetPCL executable and data files.
Execution:
- Between 3 and 6 Mb of memory during execution depending on the
output dpi requested. This is configurable using the -b switch. If memory is
not available a disk based swap file will be used.
Data files:
- JetPCL uses and
creates support files to perform its functions. By default JetPCL uses the following
support files:
- JETPCL.CFG - Configuration file
- JETPCL.CTL - Control file
- MT\*.* files - Microtype and TrueType typeface files
- SFT\*.SFT files - Softfont files
- MAC\*.MAC files - Macro files
- PAT\*.PAT files - Pattern files
- SYM\*.SYM files - Symbol Set files
- SYM\*.TRN files - Text Translation files
These figures are general and might vary among platforms and feature sets. Also, some of these are optional and might be discarded in situations that have limited resources and require a smaller footprint.
